Magnus the Law-Mender ( Magnus Lagabøte) of Norway, and Alexander III of Scotland agree to the Treaty of Perth. Norway renounced claim on the Hebrides, the Isle of Man and Caithness in return for a lump sum of 4000 marks and the promise of an annual payment of 100 marks. In addition, Scotland recognized Norway's sovereignty over Orkney and Shetland.
