The Register of the Privy Seal of Scotland contains an entry that: "A Letter direct to Henry lord Sincler and David Sinclar of Swinburgh, knicht, schireffis in that part : Makand mention that the kingis bienes presentit M. HENRY PHANTOCH to the archidenry of Schetland be resson of the rieht of his crown, nevertheles ane callit schir Mawnys Herwod, chapellan, has, of temerarite and presumption, purchest the said archidenry at the king of Denmark, and has tañe his presentatioun thairuppon, in gret prejudice to our said soveran lord, anent his said rieht: Thairfor the said schireffis in that part has in command in the said letter to charge in the kingis name and auctorite the said schir Mawnys and all uther personis to haf na intrometting with the said archidenry or to purches ony presentation of the king of Denmarkis thairuppon, under the pane of treson, considering the presentation thairof concernys to our soveran lordis heretage"

Another entry in the Registry of the Privy Seal: "A Letter direct to Henry lord Sincler, schiref in that part, charging him as principall justice within the boundis of Orknay and Schetland, to command and charge in our soverane lordis name, all his liegis, spirituale and temporal, that nane of thaim tak uppon hand to do ony thing contrar our said soverane lordis presentatioun gevin to M. Henry Phantoich of the archidenry of Schetland, or to vex or truble him or his procuratouris in the pessable bruking of the said archidenry, etc., - under pain of rebellion and putting of thaim to his horn, etc."

From the Register of the Privy Seal: "At Edinburgh...A Letter direct to Henry, Lord Sinclare and to al utheris the kingis liegis within the boundis of Orknay and Schetland: Makand mentioun that forsamekle as the kingis hienes for the speciale devotioun he beris to the glorious marthir Sanct Mawnys, patroun of the cathedrale kirk of Orknay, etc., he has of new with the avise of his grete consale, efter his generale revocatioun made apoun al giftis grantit be him in his nonage, gevin, grantit, mortifiiit and confermit all and sindre the lanndis, rentis and possessiounis pertenyng to the said cathedrale kirk of Orknay, in properte or tenandry, and als the lanndis and glebis of kirkis and chapellanrys pertenyng to the ful collatioun of the bischop of the said kirk, to Andro Bischop of Orknay and his successouris, in fre regalite perpetualy, with al fredomez pertenyng til ony barony and fre regalite: Chargeing the said Henry lorde Sinclare, his kyn and frendis, and al utheris the kingis liegis, spirituale and temporale, within the saidis boundis that nane of thame mak ony impediment to the said reverend fader or his successouris in the using of the said regalite and al fredomez pertenyng thairto, nor to stop na lawmen in the suppleing of the said reverend fader, his servandis and officiaris, in the ministratioun of justice or in the rasing of al unlawis, eschetis, proffittis, skattis and dewiteis according to the said regalite, - but that thai obey and fortify the sammyn, etc., under al the hiest pain and charge, etc."
