- A vessel, classified as a fishing boat, but otherwise unidentified sank off Yell with the loss of six lives.

- The brig Stadt Memel stranded on Fetlar.
- The Mercurius, a full rigged ship laden with a cargo of timber, of Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland was discovered in a dismasted and derelict condition, with bodies onboard, at an unidentified location off Shetland. She was towed in to Lerwick Harbour and condemned.
