    The Norges Constitution, a schooner, laden with a cargo of salt fish, of and from Drontheim (now Trondheim), Norway, for Barcelona, Spain was beached on Vementry after springing a leak. All of the crew were saved, but some locals were later drowned while plundering the wreck.
