Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
- The County Families of the Zetland Islands was compiled and written by Francis Grant and first appeared in 1893, with 200 subscribed copies being printed and published in Lerwick by T & J Manson.
It is more commonly referred to as 'Grant's County Families' - Dr. Jakob Jakobsen arrives in Shetland from Leith to begin his fieldwork

The John Kelly, a smack, carrying a general cargo, of and from Voe for Papa Stour, wrecked in Housa Voe, Papa Stour.

The Neptune (1893), a wooden hulled sail boat, laden with a cargo of potatoes, of and from Mid Yell, for Lerwick foundered or wrecked at an unknown location between Mid Yell and Lerwick with the loss of the one soul aboard.
