- The Rose (BF343),a wooden hulled lug sail vessel, of Gardenstown, Banff, Scotland, for Balta Sound, Unst, presumed wrecked at an unknown location between the Moray Firth, Scotland and Balta Sound in the second half of the month.

The Teal Duck a wooden hulled steam fishing trawler, registered in North Shields, Tyne & Wear, England was lost with all hands on South Ness, Foula.

- 15th
A catch of 71 pilot whales were driven ashore at Sand Voe. This was the first whale grind there since 1855.

- The Bohemian Girl, a wooden hulled sail schooner laden with a cargo of coal, of Lerwick, from Sunderland, England. and for Wick, Scotland. wrecked on or in the vicinity of Whalsay, with the loss of all on board.
