A Shetland model boat of 11' keel, returning to Bressay with six persons on board, was run down off the Baa of Twageos, at the South entrance of Lerwick Harbour, by the Burra boat "Children's Trust" LK523. Three of the six on board were drowned, James Laurenson, Jessie Laurenson, and Sarah Gifford. Those saved were Willie Hardie, the boat owner, his daughter Mary Christie, and Laurence Laurenson, son of James Laurenson.
