Annie Deyell, or Anderina Ann Deyell (nee Goudie), was born on February 8th, 1898 at Geosetter, Bigton. She married George Duncan Deyell of Staneydale, Sandsting on July 21st 1928, and died on August 24th 1978 at Walls. She was schoolteacher at Sandness for many years.

In 1975 her book entitled My Shetland, was published by Thuleprint Ltd, Sandwick. It is a collection of personal recollections from the early part of the 20th Century, stories, poetry and sea lore. 102 Pages, Paperback, with illustrations by Maxie Bain.
