Brae Wick is a small settlement in the north west Shetland Mainland, on the north shore of Brae Wick, and St Magnus Bay.
Braewick is one of the best points to get a good view of the Drongs sea stacks.
Loch of Braewick, Eshaness; after the sea breached the loch in July/Aug. 1936. The sea came in over, and broke, the bar between beach and loch, and much of the loch drained out. Following this the timbers of a boat, reported as Norse, were exposed on the bottom of the loch. Photo from Shetland Museum and Archives. |
