Bruray is the smallest of the inhabited islands which, together with Housay and Grunay, form the Out Skerries.
Located approximately 7km north east of Whalsay, and 17km due east of the nearest point of the Shetland Mainland, Bruray is connected by a bridge to Housay.
The airstrip for the inter-island air service from Tingwall Airport, and the ferry terminal for the ro-ro ferry service from Vidlin are both located on Bruray.
