Burgh Road runs in a northerly direction from it's junction with Scalloway Road, and Sletts Road, past the junctions of Union Street, Cockatoo Brae, and King Haakon Street, on the right. and Saint Sunniva Street, on the left, to it's junction with the North Road.
To the west side of Burgh Road is the Montfield Hospital complex, and the Gilbertson Park playing field.
Burgh Road is so called as it was formerly the western boundary of the burgh of Lerwick.
