Many community activities, especially in remoter areas of Shetland, centre around the local Public Hall.
Some of these halls have been converted from existing buildings, such as old schools, but many have been purpose built over the years.
All the halls have one major thing in common. The support of the local community, many members of which give freely of their time and effort, to ensure the continuance of the facility.
