The Shetland Islands Council operate a number of ports and harbours in and around Shetland, the largest of these being the port of Sullom Voe.
Although Sullom Voe may be the biggest, the other harbours, piers, and ferry terminals, operated and maintained by the SIC, provide vital lifeline services for the outer isles of Shetland.
