Da Fustra is a traditional Shetland dance band.
History
Da Fustra played for the first time on 17th October 1969 in the Zetland Hall in Edinburgh. The band was formed by Cecil Hughson and Douglas Johnstone while they were students in Edinburgh. They are the only two original members of the band.
Da Fustra have made many appearances on radio, including Robbie Shepherd's Take The Floor show on Radio Scotland.
Playing regularly at dances all over Shetland the band remains extremely popular for the light mood of their music which is just as much a pleasure to listen to, as it is to dance to.
