Foula Egg-shaped Circle
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
The Foula Egg-shaped Circle was discovered by a team of Bacas - Bath and Camerton Archaeological Society in May 2006.
More detailed studies in 2007 confirmed the egg-shaped layout with the main axis pointing to the winter solstice sunrise.
A trench dug through the centre of the circle produced a paved area and a small piece of black pottery. No final results published so far.
