Geoff Feather, from Gulberwick, was one of 9 candidates for the 4 seat Lerwick South ward in the 2007 Shetland Local Elections, but failed to win a seat.

In the 2003 Shetland Local Elections, Geoff was elected as councilor for the former ward of Lerwick Upper Sound, Gulberwick and Quarff.

Geoff is now a candidate in the by-election on the 28th February 2008 for the vacant seat in the Lerwick South ward.

Geoff moved to Shetland in 1968, lived in Urafirth, and has worked at the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal as well as having been an Auxiliary Coastguard for over 20 years.
