The George Canning, a sailing smack or sloop (the available records are in dispute), 15 L x 4 B metres, 40 tons, built Lerwick 1827, registered in Lerwick, Captain Smith.

In passage from Lerwick to North Roe with an unspecified cargo, struck a reef in Yell Sound near Ollaberry on April 18th 1863, and sank in deep water. All of the crew were saved, but the cargo was lost along with the vessel.
