No official Up-Helly-Aa festival was held after World War II until 1949. However in 1948 a small unofficial Up-Helly-Aa was organised with the assistance of the Lerwick firm of Ganson Brothers.
The Jarl was Ian Fraser, and Ganson Brothers had a small Galley, Sejr, built, which was burned at the Waarie Geo, Breiwick Road.
