Jack Renwick, b.1924, Unst poet and writer, has been a major contributor to The New Shetlander since its inception in 1947. His work is in some instances reminiscent of that of Vagaland, often employing the same traditional verse forms as the older writer, yet Renwick displays a great assurance in the writing of free verse. He has also specialised in writing satirical verse.

Renwick's poetry in Shetlandic and English was first collected in the volume 'Rainbow Bridge', published in 1963 by The Shetland Times. His collected poems, The Harp of Light was published in 2007.
