The Jarl Squad are the main Up Helly-Aa squad and are led by the Guizer Jarl.

The Jarl Squad are assigned squad number 1, and go around the halls in the reverse order, so as to theoretically give all the squads a change to see them. The incoming Jarl Squad for the following Up Helly-Aa are assigned squad number 2.
