Jenni Simmons, Shetland-based author of the popular A Shetland Cookbook (1978) which has been reprinted three times, Shetland Dye Book (1985), a guide to the traditional dyes used in Shetland which is also reprinted, and A Family of Recipes (2001), a collection of recipes which spans several generations of a large family.

Jenni is also a poet, and published a collection entitled I Was Glad About the Butterfly in 1998. Her work also appears in A Shetland Anthology.
