Jenny Gilbertson

Jenny Gilbertson, or Jenny Isobel Gilbertson (nee Brown), was born in, 1903 in Clydebank, Renfrewshire, Scotland. She married John Halcrow Gilbertson of Zoar, Hillswick, Northmavine on June 30th 1934, and died on January 8th 1990 at Exnaboe, Virkie, Dunrossness.
She made a number of short films in Shetland during the 1930's recording local life, including 'Rugged Island' in 1933, many of which are preserved in the Scottish Film Archive. She travelled extensively in her retirement, mainly to Alaska and Canada, where she made further short films of the same nature of the peoples there.
