The German trawler Kryno Albrecht was wrecked on Whalsay on 20th March 1909. She struck on Millya Skerry, near to the Rumble. All of the crew of ten were saved with great difficulty by men from Traewick.
Kryno Albrecht (registered as PG 65) was a steam trawler of about 200 GRT from Bremen. Since 1902 fishing between Norway and Shetland Islands, together with research vessel Poseidon and trawler Carl Adolf PG 68 to investigate and observe fishing conditions there.
