Labour Party
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
The Labour Party is a left of centre political party. Until 2010 they were the party in power at Westminster, and have formed the previous three administrations at Holyrood. They established Scottish devolution, the NHS, and various other things.
Shetland is considered a safe seat for the Liberal Democrats, both in the UK and Scottish parliaments, and Labour tends not to do so well. Labour's strongholds tend to be in urban, industrialised areas of the UK, which is partly why this is so.
Their MEPS are in the Party of European Socialists.
