The Leirna, named after a stack at the south end of Lerwick Harbour, was the first double ended ferry in the Shetland fleet.
She was built by Ferguson Shipbuilders of Port Glasgow in 1992.
She took up service on the Lerwick to Bressay route on the 2nd of November 1992, replacing the Grima, and has been on that service since then.
