Leonard Lyell

Sir Leonard Lyell, Liberal party, was elected MP for the constituency of Orkney & Shetland in December 1885, replacing Samuel Laing. He served in the seat until 1900 when he was replaced by Cathcart Wason.
He was made a baronet in 1894, and elevated to the peerage as 1st Baron Lyell, of Kinnordy, in 1914.
Leonard Lyell was born on 21st October 1850, and died on 18th September 1926.
