Levenwick Beach

Leven Wick, (HU413213), is a small bay on the east side of the South Shetland Mainland.
The bay is overlooked by the village of Levenwick. There is a north facing sandy beach to the south of which is the settlement of Netherton.

During the era of sail the wick was for many years a popular anchorage, and was considered the main anchorage for Dunrossness vessels persecuting the herring fishery.

The Norueguesa was wrecked here in December/January 1862/63, as was the Florence on March 30th 1901, and the Prolific on April 19th 1969
