Linga is a small islet in the middle of Vaila Sound on the south side of the west Shetland Mainland. About 1km north of the Linga is the village of Walls and the island which rises to a height of 28m, is sheltered from the open sea by the larger island of Vaila.
The 1881 census showed 13 residents, this figure had reduce to 2 by 1931. The island is now uninhabited.
The L'Etoile wrecked on the isle on either March 6th or 8th 1834, and the Ben Meidie went ashore on the isle on January 30th 1929.
