Lobster Fishing
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
- circa 1830
"The lobster fishery is carried on to some extent, principally during the spring months. Immense numbers of this species of fish are to be found along the rocky coasts of Scotland, the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland. One fishing in Shetland, it is said, produces about £15,000 worth of this fish annually, which are sent to the London market, where they fetch a high price."[1]
