Lunna is an old settlement in the north east of the Mainland of Shetland, the former centre of the old parish of Lunnasting, now merged with Nesting. At one point well placed when transport was by sea, Lunna is now in a rather isolated position within the road network.
But here there is much of interest: Lunna House, the views from Lunna Ness across to the Delting hills, Samphrey and Yell and the fascinating Lunna Kirk are all well worth the trek. Lunna was also an important centre during The Shetland Bus operation.
