On 9th November 1993 during a storm the steel hulled Latvian registered klondyker Lunokhods, Gross tonnage 2774, 83.89 L x 14.02 B x 5.71 D metres, built 1971 'Chernomorskiy' Shipyard, Nikolayev, Ukraine, dragged her anchor and was wrecked in a geo at Kirkibister Ness, near the Bressay Lighthouse. The vessel and cargo were a total loss but all the crew were saved.
