Main Street runs along the waterfront of Scalloway, from it's junction with New Road and New Street, at the east end, to the junction with Hillside Road and Westshore, at it's westerly end.
On the north side of the street there are junctions with; Lang Closs (formerly Spence's Closs), leading to Gibblestone Road; Chapel Loan, leading to Houll Road and Berry Road; Kirk Park, and Adies Place.
Main Street has seen much refurbishment work in recent years as part of a major scheme to enhance the waterfront area.
