Margaret Stuart Robertson, author of Sons and Daughters of Shetland 1800-1900, (Shetland Publishing Company, 1991), was born in 1929 at Newcastle Upon Tyne, the great grand daughter of a Robert Henry from Foula, who had emigrated to North Shields. She married Lindsay Robertson of Lerwick in 1970. Her book is a genuine labour of love and an invaluable resource, in the form of an alphabetical directory, which gathers together information on all classes of 19th C. folk in the isles from various sources.
