The Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland registered steel hulled steam fishing trawler May Island (LH194) (formerly A. Spence MacDonald), 35.1 L x 6.73 B x 3.58 D metres, single boiler, 78hp, 195 Gross Tons or GRT, or 76.5 Gross Tons, built 1911 Hall, Russell & Co. Ltd. Aberdeen, Scotland, owner T. H. Scales, Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, Captain James Tarvit or Carvit, ten crew.

This vessel wrecked on the south side of Lamba Ness, Unst, possibly at a location known as Russa Geo, on 18th of February 1936 (one portion of the record states March 9th, but February 18th is believed correct), during S Force 7 wind conditions and in unknown circumstances. All the crew were lost.

The remains of the vessel, which essentially comprises her boiler and winch, lie among boulders close to the cliff bottom, near the centre of a name unrecorded "small bay" on the south side of Lamba Ness.
