The Morning Star, formerly the Altaire, a British registered wooden hulled motor fishing vessel, 22.07 metres length, 50 gross tons, sank in approx 56 metres while under tow at a position approx between 0.9 - 1 mile NW of the Muckle Holm Lighthouse in Yell Sound on September 28th 1982.
A fire had broken out in the engine room while on a fishing trip, necessitating she be towed to shore, and she sank while this was being undertaken.
