The Ness of Sound, (HU468392), is a headland located just south of Lerwick, and lies between Brei Wick and the Voe of Sound. Although housing in Lerwick has expanded rapidly in recent years this area is still a green field site.
The Ness of Sound has been the site of several shipwrecks over the years, including the Samba in 1956 and the Rangor in 1964.
