The Noran (alternatively Norna), a wooden hulled trading cutter, 42 GRT, 17 L x 5 B metres, built 1836 Cowes, Isle of Wight, England, Owner W. J. Adie, Voe, Captain R. Balfour, four crew. While in passage, laden with a cargo of fish and general goods from Voe to Papa Stour was wrecked in the West Voe, Papa Stour during NNE Force 11 wind conditions on September 25th 1889. All of the crew were saved, what became of the cargo is unclear, but the hull, chains etc were subsequently sold at auction.
