The Norges Constitution (alternatively Norgens Constitution (believed to be incorrect, but appears in most records)), a wooden hulled sailing schooner, Captain Pfefferkorn/Pfefferkon, registered in Drontheim (now Trondheim), Norway. While in passage from Drontheim (now Trondheim), Norway to Barcelona, Spain with a cargo of salt fish, sprang a leak and was beached on the island of Vementry on December 14th 1841 (Some records state the 26th, however the 14th is believed to be correct, as the death of one of the locals mentioned below is recorded as having occured on the 16th). All of the crew and a small amount of stores and other material were saved. However, some locals were subsequently drowned while plundering the wreck.
