The Norma, a wooden hulled barque, 385 Net Tons, built 1858, owner A. J. Shilesen, Drammen, Norway, Captain A. N. Biermann, ten crew.

While in passage with a cargo of coal and bagged cement from Sunderland, England to Christiana (now Oslo), Norway foundered and sank on December 24th or 25th 1876 at a position approx 16 miles S by E of Sumburgh Head during SE Force 6 wind conditions. The crew were taken off by another vessel, the Hermonie.
