North Haven

North Haven, (HZ226727), is a small north facing inlet on the east side of Fair Isle.
There is a pier and a slipway for the ferry Good Shepherd IV, which connects the island with the Shetland Mainland, at Grutness.
The Joanna En Pietrenella went ashore at the mouth of the inlet, then refloated and went ashore on the Stack on February 6th 1816, the Star Of The West sank at anchor in the inlet on November 15th 1876, and the Fair Isle mailboat of the day, the Good Shepherd I drove from anchor and was wrecked in the inlet on January 31st 1937.
