The North Isle of Gletness lies approximately 1km east of the settlement of Gletness, in South Nesting, on the east coast of the Shetland Mainland.
It rises to a height of 33m, and is separated from Hawks Ness, at Gletness, by the north end of the South Voe of Gletness.To the west of the isle are the small skerries of Stunger and Tainga Skerry, whilst on its eastern shore lies a skerry called Aiplin.
