On the 15th of May 1967, Norwegian war veterans visited Lerwick. Veterans of both Shetland Bus operations and the Norwegian MTB Flotilla in Shetland made up the group.
This bronze memorial plaque was received at a ceremony at Lerwick Town Hall, from the veterans of the MTB's 30th and 54th Flotillas, for appreciation of hospitality.
The memorial plaque has a model of a MTB on the top, followed with the incription : "To the Town of Lerwick in appreciation of hospitality rendered""
The center part has the Norwegian MTB Flotilla's Coat of Arms, and the bottom the incription reads : "Veterans of the 30th and 54th MTB Flotillas Royal Norwegian Navy based in Lerwick 1942 - 1945
