The Nuestra Senora De Rosario (listed in some records as the Rosario), a wooden hulled full rigged ship, 300 gross tons, Captain De Bava d'Coquello or Bara (the available records are in dispute), twenty one crew, registered in Malaga, Spain. While in passage from St Petersburg, Russia to Malaga, Spain with a mixed cargo of cord, rigging, linen flax, window glass, tar, pitch and planks (timber), struck a rock and sank in 15 fathoms at the Ness of Culsetter, St Magnus Bay on November or December (the available records are in dispute) 18th 1814. Eight of the crew were saved, thirteen, comprising the Captain, two mates and ten crewmen were lost. One record also states one passenger was lost. A few casks of pitch were saved, the vessel and the remainder of her cargo were a total loss.
