Oxna is one of the bigger Scalloway Islands lying immediately north of the South Channel, the southern approach to Scalloway Harbour. The island is about 1.5km north west of Fugla Ness Lighthouse, Burra.
Until World War I there was a small settlement above the shore of Sandy Voe on the north east coast of the island. Today, the only one remaining house is used as a private holiday flat for the owners of the island.
Off the north west coast of Oxna there are the Hoggs of Oxna, a picturesque group of rugged skerries and rocks.
Oxna seen from near the Fugla Ness Lighthouse on Burra. The south tip of Papa can be seen to the right of the lighthouse. The small skerry in front of Oxna is Bulia Skerry.
