Papa Stour World War I Memorial is a beautiful stained glass window, erected above the alter in Papa Stour Kirk.
It is the only surviving example of stained glass work by the artist Victor Noble-Rainbird (1899 - 1936).
It shows Jesus calming the sea, and the bottom panel has the inscription :
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURED MEMORY OF.
Below is listed the names of the men from Papa Stour who lost their lives in the First World War.

There is also a brass plaque below the window, with the inscription :
"THE ABOVE WINDOW ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION IS/ DEDICATED TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN SACRED MEMORY OF/ (The names of the fallen)/ NATIVES OF THIS ISLAND, WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE IN THE GREAT WAR/ "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS"
