LK 531 'Dauntless',LK 331 'Scotch Queen',LK 93 'Sunshine' and LK 97 'Replenish', all from Burra Isle and here together in Lerwick to take anglers out in the Viking Sea Angling Festival.Pictured in September 1969. |
LK 207 'La Morlaye' , a Whalsay boat and ex-Admiralty MFV, was so named prior to her arrival in Shetland. She had been named after a prominent race-horse of the day. In this photograph, her Skipper Johnnie Jamieson is in the wheelhouse, and his brother Andrew is on the foredeck. Lying off is LK 97 'Replenish' of Burra isle, and the grey painted vessel partly hidden by the pier is a Russian tug, possibly 'Rambinas', a regular caller from the late 1960's to the mid 1970's.
