The Prince Abbas, a steel hulled steamship, laden with a cargo of coal, two boilers, 510hp, 91.44 L x 11.40 B x 4.77 D metres, 2030 gross tons, built 1892 R. Napier & Sons. Glasgow, Scotland, Owner Hudson Bay Co. London, England, Captain Dunbar, registered in London, England, and in passage from the Tyne, England to Lerwick. This vessel was torpedoed and sunk at a position approx 29 miles E of Fair Isle by the German submarine U-52 on July 9th 1917. Two of the crew were lost.
