Rúhíyyih Khánum

Rúhíyyih Khánum (August 8, 1910 – January 19, 2000), born "Mary Sutherland Maxwell", was a "Hand of the Cause" of the Bahá'í faith. She visited Shetland on August 15 & 16 1981, where she was received by the head of the council and interviewed on Radio Shetland.<ref>http://bahai-library.com/hands_cause_bw_18</ref>
She was a North American (with both US and Canadian connections) of Scottish family origins. She travelled to over 185 countries proselytising for her faith. On these travels she was received by a number of state leaders including Carlos Menem.
