Robert M. Greig

Robert M. Greig, (Robert Morrison), Shetland author, was born on the 3rd of July 1891 at Queen's Place, Lerwick. He was a Shetland Times reporter who wrote a series of articles on his experiences on the Western Front in the First World War. These were edited by Alex Cluness and published together for the first time as Doing His Bit (1999), forming "a startling insight into a shell-torn, barbed wire world of terrible sacrifice and outstanding courage". Greig died in Lerwick on 25h March, 1938.
