Sampson

The Sampson, a sloop, Captain Currie, registered in Glasgow, Scotland. In passage for Iceland, this vessel was initially driven on to Fair Isle by a strong westerly wind, a pilot refloated her and she was taken and anchored in the Bay of Quendale, Dunrossness, where her crew left her. She was subsequently driven from anchor from there and eventually wrecked on Foula in November 1786.
